Happy New School Year Everyone!!!

What a joy to join the Foundry Team in embarking on this wonderful journey of fun while learning! My name is Shaina Carter and I am extremely excited and optimistic about this school year and moving forward in the Downey Elementary School (D.E.S.)

I have been working within the D.E.S. for over seven years, in various areas and with this new school year, my goal is to "Build the Capacity of Schools to Deliver 21st Century Skills for Life and Work"!

We started the school year off with a BANG!!!... The Foundry had an amazing experience as we teamed up with KABOOM, Dr. Pepper/Snapple, Karns, D.E.S, Community Partners, Parents (Parent Lighthouse Team), Students, Teachers, HBG School District Administration & staff and many others; as we worked together in building a new playground for the children at Downey Elementary School (stay tuned for footage from our special day of fun). What an amazing experience!

Remember, "It Takes a Village" to ensure the brightness of our children's future. Join the team, in working with our wonderful children. Come out! Found out how you can be apart of the overall success of our children and the communities. No participation is too small.
